Let Us Be Thankful  ​​ ​​​​ Hebrews 12:14-24

  • As you reflect over 2023, what things are you thankful for? ​​ How has God worked in your life?

  • Read Hebrews 12:14-17. ​​ What are the two things we are to work at?

  • The author gives the readers directives at what to do. ​​ What are they and​​ why are they important?

  • Read Deuteronomy 29:17-18 ​​​​ What does this say about the root of bitterness? ​​ How does bitterness negatively impact the church? ​​ What is the key to stopping it?

  • What do we learn from the example of Esau?

  • Read Hebrews 12:18-24. ​​ What two mountains are used for the two covenants? ​​ What is the significance of these mountains and the difference between them?

  • What are the circumstances cited of the Old Covenant? ​​ The New Covenant?

  • What has made the difference between the two?​​ 

  • How are you encouraged by this passage as a person who has come to the New Covenant at Mount Zion?

  • Prayer

    • Thank God specifically for all the wonderful benefits you have received by coming to Him through Jesus Christ.

    • Pray for strength and victory in working at living in peace with everyone and in working at living a holy life.

    • Pray for those you are urged to “look after.”​​ ​​
