Dealing with Sin As a Christian  ​​​​ Romans 6:1-14

 

  • Read Romans 5:20-6:1. Why does Paul ask the question in 6:1?

 

  • Read Romans 6:2-4. Why isn’t it appropriate for a Christian to keep on sinning?

 

  • What does baptism have to do with not continuing to sin?

 

  • Read Romans 6:5-11. What are the things Paul says were true of us before faith in Christ and are not true now?

 

  • How can you “consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God” as stated in verse 11?

 

  • Read Romans 6:12-14. How do we not let sin control us? Read James 1:14-15 and consider how this applies.

 

  • Read 1 Corinthians 9:27. How do we not let any part of our body become an instrument of evil to serve sin?

 

  • What are ways we can fight temptation and exercise the power of sin that this passage says we have?

 

  • What do you do when you fail? ​​ Read Philippians 4:13 together.

 

  • Prayer – Thank God you are no longer a slave to sin and now alive to Him. Pray for deliverance from temptation.
