Small Group Questions​​  ​​ ​​​​ October​​ 20, 2024

Being Faithful to Jesus in​​ Our​​ Neighborhood​​ 

1 Peter 3:13-17; 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

  • Share a time where you have been faithful to Jesus in your neighborhood – how He has given you opportunities to be His light.

  • Read 1 Peter 3:13-17. ​​ Have you ever been mistreated in your neighborhood because of being a Christian? ​​ Are your concerned about that happening?

  • What guidance does this passage give for those who are facing mistreatment? ​​ What are we to do? ​​ 

  • What are we to be ready to do? ​​ Have you ever had someone ask you for the reason for your hope? ​​ Why would someone do that? ​​ How do we respond?

  • What does it look like when we are gentle and respectful in sharing our hope in Christ? ​​ What would be the opposite of this and why should we avoid it?

  • Read 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12. ​​ What kind of a life is a Christian to live? ​​ Why would this be important in being a good neighbor?

  • Do you know all the neighbors near you? ​​ How can you be ready to share your hope in Christ with them – what are some specific, practical things you can do. ​​ 

  • Read 2 Corinthians 5:18-20. ​​ What does it mean to be an ambassador? ​​ What is our message? ​​ What difference does this make in our perspective on loving our neighbors?

  • Prayer

  • Write down the names of at least 4 of your neighbors. ​​ Begin to regularly pray for opportunities to show them love.
