Core Beliefs

There is one living and true God revealed in nature as the Creator and Sovereign of the universe; and in the Scriptures as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, yet as one God – infinitely wise and good, whom all intelligent creatures are supremely to love, adore, and obey. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He was bodily resurrected from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God, and is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit provides believers with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when he is saved. As Christians we seek to live under the Holy Spirit’s control daily.

The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error in its original autographs (manuscripts), and the authority and message of Scripture is infallible.

Humanity was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, human beings are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own effort.

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
